Coast Guard searching for family after boat disappears off Florida Gulf Coast

The Coast Guard was brushing the waters off Florida's Gulf Coast early Wednesday in a urgent quest for a missing sailboat conveying a father and his three young youngsters who were "endeavoring to get by" in unpleasant oceans, and who had not been gotten notification from since Sunday.

The U.S. Coast Guard propelled a HC-130 Hercules plane from Clearwater, and a few different vessels from Stations Cortez and Fort Myers, Petty Officer second Class Ashley J. Johnson told the News-Press. The Maritime Emergency Response Team had additionally been actuated.

The man, his children, ages 13 and 15, and his 17-year-old girl left Sarasota at 7 a.m. Sunday, the Coast Guard said. The quartet was setting out toward Fort Myers to have repairs done on the sailboat.

The pontoon supposedly had no name and no radio, as indicated by CBS.
